Meadowfield Days

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Meadowfield Days is the comfort food of the catalog. You inherit a run-down patch of countryside and slowly turn it into a tidy little village: planting crops, raising a few animals, befriending the handful of locals who still live there. It's gentle and never rushed.

The daily loop is simple but satisfying. Water, harvest, chat, decorate, sleep, repeat. What saves it from feeling repetitive is the writing around the villagers, who have small ongoing stories you unlock by spending time with them. It's warm without being saccharine.

Controls are tidy and the save system is forgiving, so you can play in short sessions without losing progress. If you want a quiet place to unwind for ten minutes before bed, this fits perfectly.
